Overcoming panic attacks begins with understanding them at the neural level

Free guide: The Waves of Fear - The Story of Panic Attacks

A panic attack is an intense brain reaction to a perception of danger. The areas involved in the stress response - the amygdala, the hypothalamus and the prefrontal cortex - activate suddenly, generating a surge of adrenaline and strong bodily symptoms.

When you understand how this mechanism arises at brain level, you can regain control and restore your calm through neuroscience-based techniques.

The Waves of Fear - The Story of Panic Attacks

Inside, you will discover:

  • How the brain reacts during a panic attack: What happens in the amygdala, the prefrontal cortex and the autonomic nervous system.
  • Why the brain triggers the “false alarm”: How the fear–physical sensation–fear cycle is created and how it can be interrupted.
  • How breathing, sleep and chronic stress influence brain balance: Concrete steps to restore the natural rhythm of the nervous system.
  • Neuroscience-validated strategies for self-regulation: Breathing exercises, body grounding and heart–brain coherence.
  • How the BrainMap assessment and brain training work: Modern methods that reveal activation patterns and support their gradual regulation.

Who we are

The BrainMap Institute was founded in 2019 by Alina Robu and Diana Nemeș, with the mission of bringing modern, neuroscience-based brain training methods to Romania. We wanted to offer people fast and effective solutions for emotional balance and mental clarity, beyond the limits of classical psychotherapy.

Alina Robu – psychologist, accredited integrative psychotherapist, IFEN-trained neurofeedback specialist, founder of the BrainMap Institute and coordinator of the training protocols.

Diana Nemeș – physician, integrative psychotherapist, with over 20 years of experience in healing therapies and thousands of successfully treated cases.

Today, the BrainMap Institute is the only centre in Europe applying the brain training method - a complex, one-of-a-kind approach to optimizing how the brain works.
