Types of personality disorders

Do you recognize one of the descriptions below in someone close to you?

Borderline disorder

It is characterized by intense and unstable emotions, impulsive behavior, a distorted self-image and difficulty forming and maintaining relationships. Sudden mood swings occur, between intense love, anger and anxiety, in a very short time. Added to these are feelings of inner emptiness, fear of abandonment and self-destructive behaviors:

  • substance abuse
  • reckless driving
  • self-harm

Narcissistic disorder

It is marked by the need for admiration and a lack of empathy towards others. These people have an exaggerated self-image, fantasies of success and power, and consider themselves special, entitled to different treatment. They can be arrogant and demanding, they exploit others for their own benefit and hardly accept criticism, becoming defensive.

Bipolar disorder

It involves extreme mood swings, with episodes of mania and depression. During manic episodes there are euphoria, energy or irritability, impulsive behavior and a reduced need for sleep. During depressive episodes there are sadness, despair, loss of interest, difficulty concentrating and changes in appetite or sleep.

Histrionic disorder

It consists of an exaggerated need for attention. These people feel uncomfortable when they are not the center of attention and constantly seek the approval of those around them. They struggle to maintain long-term relationships, depend on others for validation and tend to exaggerate their emotions, making impulsive decisions when their emotional needs are not met.

Antisocial disorder (sociopathy)

It is characterized by contempt for and violation of the rights of others, with habits that are destructive both to oneself and to others:

  • lying
  • deception
  • theft
  • involvement in criminal acts

Empathy and remorse are missing; these people are impulsive, aggressive, and have difficulty complying with social norms and keeping a stable job.

Paranoid disorder

It involves persistent distrust and suspicion of those around, even without evidence. These people find it hard to establish close relationships, avoid confiding in others for fear of being betrayed and are hypervigilant, reacting quickly with anger or aggression when they feel attacked.

If you recognize your loved one in one of the descriptions above, it is important to stand by them and encourage them to seek medical help. They do not have to live in these conditions forever! There are solutions that permanently treat personality disorders, without creating addictions and without involving drug-based treatment.

Help your loved one treat personality disorders through brain training!

Personality disorders

At the BrainMap Institute we use the revolutionary brain training therapy, based on brain science, which treats the personality disorders mentioned above.

How does it work? Researchers have come to the conclusion that the associated symptoms and behaviors can be changed by modifying the structure of the brain.

For example, in borderline disorder neurofeedback is used to reduce impulsivity and the rigid thinking pattern, and a study conducted in 2019 showed that the emotional balance gained persisted even after the end of the therapy.

Using new exclusive medical equipment, manufactured and certified in the U.S.A., the therapy is based on training the brain's neuroplasticity.

It "repairs" the way the brain reacts in the presence of the factors that trigger the problematic behaviors. And it leads to the formation of new neural connections, which teach the brain to react in a healthy way in those situations.

The entire procedure is painless and does not cause side effects. It does not involve electrical stimuli or other dangerous and ineffective procedures.

This medical equipment has been used from the very beginning for the training of NASA cosmonauts and astronauts, to improve pilots' ability to concentrate in highly stressful situations.

And now you too can benefit from the effects of brain training therapy right here in Romania!

How does brain training therapy help with personality disorders?

  • Brain training sessions show positive results in treating personality disorders, and the newly acquired patterns of thinking and behavior remain present for life. The earlier we start, the faster we can reduce the impact of the symptoms
  • Using a specific medical device and a software program, we measure brainwave activity and help patients change their own brainwaves.
  • This way, they manage to reduce their symptoms, improve their relationships with those around them and even the overall quality of their life (effects also demonstrated by international studies*).
  • Thousands of patients have been treated through brain training at the BrainMap Institute. Patients with conditions such as narcissism, borderline, bipolarity, as well as other health problems. And the results have been remarkable.

What does the therapy consist of?

In the case of personality disorders, the therapeutic process consists of 3 simple steps, which we go through together:

1

The patient does a BrainMap assessment, in which we discover exactly the brain areas we will work on. This way, we figure out how we will conduct the therapy sessions.

2

Based on the results, they receive a personalized treatment plan, suited to the uniqueness of their brain.

3

They follow the established plan and attend the periodic brain training sessions.

Even after the first sessions, both you and the patient will notice that the episodes of disturbing behavior diminish, an emotional balance appears and it becomes easier to have a healthy relationship.

The results of the therapy

By following the therapy plan, we can help people with personality disorders permanently treat their condition and radically improve their quality of life.

The results are permanent, due to the fact that we train the brain directly and it remodels its neural structures, through play. This way, destructive behaviors are eliminated and replaced with healthy thinking patterns.
